Dr. Rodney K. Powell

 

Rodney has served churches in the South Carolina Annual Conference for 32 years.  He has degrees from Spartanburg Methodist College and Methodist University in Fayetteville, NC.  His Master of Divinity is from Emory University and his Doctorate in Gerontology and Ministry Design is from Erskine Theological Seminary.

         He is married to his college sweetheart Angela and they have two remarkable sons, two wonderful daughters-in-law, and three beautiful grandchildren! 

He is a fellow of the Aller’s Academy of Older Adult Ministry and has completed Duke Divinity School’s certification in Church Leadership.  He serves on both the SC Conference Council on Older Adult Ministry and is the president of the Southeastern Jurisdiction Council on Older Adults.  He is on the Board of Trustees for The Advocate and has also been a supervising pastor/mentor for over 20 years.

        In his spare time he loves spending time with the family, genealogy, and woodturning.
